Designed this concept for public seating called “ReLeaf”. Which plays of the word “Relief” – A feeling of reassurance and relaxation following release from anxiety or distress.
The shape of the public seating was inspire by both a leaf and a seed. A cross section of a seed is shown sprouting from the ground to provide the public with a nurturing and embraceable feeling or relaxation.
While sitting, the public is protected by the hot sun, like leaves from trees producing shade.
At night, the seating sculpture will have a soft glow of light which would been seen emitting between the 2 layers of seed/leaf.
